Mariana Kalil is an Assistant Professor of Geopolitics at the Brazilian War College. 

Having a MSc and a Ph.D in International Relations from the University of Brasília, she received her BA also in International Relations from PUC-Rio having taken part of her major at Hawai'i Pacific University, United States.

She has been head of the post-grad program in international security and defense at the Brazilian War College, besides having been Vice-Chair/Program Chair, Latin America Representative and Communications Director at the Global South Caucus, International Studies Association. 

She teaches and supervises in several courses at the Brazilian War College, including the post-grad program in international security and defense, as well as the Policy and Strategy course for civilian and military senior professionals from the public sector.

Her research addresses, among others, Brazilian Foreign Policy, Geopolitics and International Security, besides International Relations Theory.

She shares the co-leadership of the Latin America & Global International Relations Research Group.
